Cuentos Verdes is our environmental education program that promotes planet conservation through reading, writing, creative learning, and nature connection.
One of our main goals is to invite people of all ages to connect with nature to develop more creative skills and find more alternatives in our everyday life to solve environmental problems.
The environmental literature and creativity workshops (tailored for different age groups) are designed to explore creativity and innovation, connect with nature, develop basic writing skills and investigate environmental problems.
Our experiences in the forests are centered in connecting with nature. We identify different flora and fauna species. Also, we incorporate stories and legends related to nature to promote further reading and investigation, along with a very enjoyable learning environment.
Through creativity exercises and games, in our workshops, we motivate creative living so we all can continue this loop: connect with nature – develop creativity – protect the environment.
In our workshops, we also work on writing skills as a means of using them as a tool to speak out and help protect our natural resources. To write, we emphasize the importance of investigation and reliable sources of information.
We encourage reading by reviewing and recommending books for nature lovers and environmental justice books, not only because we love to read, but also because reading increases our ability to empathize. And in that way, we’ll be more willing to protect our planet. The
